SS Lane Victory Maritime Center will host a commemoration of the end of World War II on Saturday, August 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will include exhibits, military vehicle displays, historical reenactors, historians, and some surprises as well, all culminating with firing of the ship’s aft cannon. Tours of the ship—one of only three WWII-era Victory ships still in existence—will be available all day.
Admission is $10 for adults, $25 for a family of four, children and military (with ID) $5, and Merchant Mariners (with ID) are free.
